I hope you have fun at the Tour de l'Île. Be aware that it's nowhere near a century: it's really an occasion for cyclists to "take back the road" at the speed of about 10 km/h... but it's a great party. Also consider the night tour if it's still happening this year, it's pretty cool.

I usually live in Montreal but I am not in Vancouver for a couple of years for my PhD (and who knows where I'll be after!!). I will be back in Montreal this Summer, but not until July, unfortunately.

For future travel, I strongly recommend checking out "Le Grand Tour" (on the same web site as the Bike Fest, under Travel, you should find it easily). It's a wonderful ride with exceptional support, and great food, great parties, great people.

Thanks for your kind assistance--but it's okay. I am originally From Montreal--and YES! Montreal has Great places to eat! I am very much a poke-along-at-my-own -pace type rider-so-the Bike Fest sounds like it will be my cup of tea--and I do hope I can book the time off and arrange the transport-to get over to it.
