Oh my...

There are very few seeds in each habanero pods. Cut open about dozen to get about three to four dozen seeds. No wonder seed companies sells habanero seeds by the dozen or so for about $3.00 YMMV

Then Cayenne pepper: got quite a few seeds from just two pods. Then again pods are about 7 inches long.

Hungarian Yellow Wax, not to be confused with sweet banana pepper. These have attitude even more than jalpenos. Got quite a few seeds from just three pods.

Jalpenos and seranos didn't ripen so no point in collecting immature seeds. Same with Itallian and Greek pepperoncinis. Nor did pablanos.

My partner ate all of shishito peppers so nothing to save.

Aneheim have few ripe pods so I can save seeds from few pods.

Fish pepper is iffy. Few pods look sort of ripe. May give it a go to saving seeds but my expectations are rather low.

Still thinking about ghost peppers aka Bhut Jolokia. It makes habaneros mild.

Yes I wore a pair of gloves while removing the seeds. Carefully washed my paring knife afterwards with lots of soap, dried it off and put it away after remiving the glove. THEN I picked up the pepper pod tops with my bare fingers. Oh boy!!

Nice! I wish I could start peppers and tomatoes from seed. Since I can't, no point in saving them. Right now all I'm saving is beans. I'm on my third generation of pole green beans and my first generation of cannellini. So exciting to take in the harvest when it's yours from start to finish! I got very few pole limas last year, plus I had some purchased seed left from the year before, so next year will be my first year planting limas entirely from saved seed.

I keep meaning to save squash seed. Not sure why I've never got around to it. I've done quite a bit of hand pollination in those couple of years when the bee population was so frighteningly low, so all I would need to add is isolating a few flowers. Maybe next year ....
