    Guard Cats

Cassie and Tucker growl when a stranger comes into the driveway. Then they jump onto the piano and stare at the front door, still growling. It cracks me up. They are so dog like, almost always in the same room we're in. Tucker "supervises" when I'm doing yoga and then falls asleep under my bike in the trainer, if he doesn't get in my lap. Cassie Cat will nap with me at any time during the day. It's good to have Cat Babies.

and so rewarding when they come trotting in to greet you when you return from a long ride or training day. They also guard me at night, Miss Ike by sleeping curved around my head, although I am getting tired of waking up with kitty head from her vigourous 2 am hair grooming session. Tux the crazy maine coon sleeps on the bed side table next to my head. love um both but when strangers come to the door they flee and guard remote distances

Moses usually greets me at the door, and he'll follow visitors around the house, growling. Very dog-like. And Joe has taken to hissing at the mailman lately.

OMG! I keep telling people that Opie and Ellie are dogs in cat suits - especially when they open the kitchen garbage to find snacks (the garbage, BTW, is in a pull out cupboard that they have somehow learned to open. DH just installed metal plates to "cat proof" the trash!). And everytime we reboot a PC, Ellie growls at the Windows chime - maybe she's a Mac cat

When we fuss at the dog (because he was, you know, doing something like sticking his head in the litter box), Ronin starts swatting him. Not to draw blood, just to prove a point, I think. Ronin also sits at feet, meows, and then jumps - fully expecting that any human being will catch him and love on him (he does this to most visitors - we have to warn people that our cat thinks they will catch him).
