This is awesome.
And why I love the group I ride with. One of our members turned 80 last week. While he didn't do the 39 mile sufferfest I did, he rode 22 miles on semi-hilly terrain, on a very humid and hot day. We have a new group that rides on Mondays, who are now slower, but still doing 30 mile rides. Several of the people from the regular group (which is a social, never more than a 15-16 average, for the faster people) ride with them as a recovery ride. I often see them riding around Concord when I go to work.
I know I'll have a group to ride with for a long time. Whenever I feel old, I think of the really fast guys in my group who are all around my age and still do incredible things. And they are engaged in life, just as the woman in the article.
