Hauling bikes with a Fiat 500?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

My previous bike hauler was giving my fits, and I stopped by the Fiat dealer, and came with Spumoni, the Pony:

The Trek 7300 looks like it will fit once I take both wheels off:

but the Recumbent could be another issue. I didn't realize that I had gotten one with a rear spoiler until after I had signed all the Paper work. It's a Pop, which usually doesn't come with the spoiler, but it was part of a free 'Special Appearance Group' (Needed to do some more homework )
I was all set to get a Saris bones, but this has me wondering if I should get a hitch. Chrysler has one listed on their spare parts site, but the dealer (and Google) told me it's Vaporware - people put it on and then tired to tow something with their cinquecento. . Advice? Love the car.

I have no advice, but I love the car!!! If I still lived in downtown Indy (versus a suburb 25 miles south of town) I'd seriously consider one. They look like a ton of fun!

Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

Grazie. I really, really like it too. I'm going to try and see how far I can get the bent in tomorrow. If it wasn't for the armrest, I think I could get the cranks between the seats after taking the wheels off. Of course then I'd have to make sure I can still shift it. amazing to see what I can get in to it.

A coworker's brother has a Fiat of similar size (don't know if it's the same car) and he put a hitch rack on it.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

Very cute!! I see pictures of Fiat 500 with spoilers and Saris racks, top "feet" on the rear window, some protection on the spoiler to avoid scratching the paint. Several of the pictures come from a forum for Fiat owners: http://www.fiat500owners.com/

You can put a hitch on it. There's a guy that put a hitch on his Mini Cooper and is using a Kuat.

pll, Thanks. I went to the Saris website, and told it to show me non-hitch racks for the Abarth(It comes standard with the spoiler) out popped the Grand Fondo (http://www.saris.com/en/bike-racks/v...&category_id=7) which looks like it will work, plus it has the eye-talian name (Cinquecento car, Bacchetta bike, Gran Fondo rack) May call around and get some quotes on a hitch.

Cute car, and amazing what you can fit in it...I've seen a few around here and they make my little Suzuki SX4 look big!

I was shocked that I almost got the Hybrid in . I didn't try the recumbent today. Spumoni no likey me getting grease on the top portion of the seats (should I have gotten the blue one - It had navy/Black seats)
