Yipeeeeeeeeeeee...they're on..they're on...


I love the winter olympics...(can't wait to watch whatever network 7 will show...) Hockey, speedskating, skiing (downill & moguls) and hockey...

I'm sitting here purusing our peasant vision tv guide & Australia's network 7 is carrying some of the olympics....However...GRRRRRRR...I'm really dying to see the Men's & Women's hockey games btwn Canada & whatever team they're playing. Ya know what...ch 7 most likely won't show them and niether will foxtel (sattelite tv-). I'm still clueless whether nhl.com or even the cbc will have live radio coverage of the games and am getting rather annoyed. I think it's time for to send a Canadian whinge to Ch 7...

So, would it be possible to beg, grovel & plead with anyone out there who's willing to tape these games for me? Canuck ladies????

I'm more than happy to do a huge favor in return. Margaret river wine, rockeby road chocolate(famous stuff, really...), a 2006 Commonwealth Games shrit or something cool from ozzie..(And i promise not to include red back spiders, pea gravel & jellyfish in the parcel )

Well, I'm not from Canada, but I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm excited to watch the games, too! I never thought I'd be interested in curling, but it is quite fun to watch!

LOVE the speed skating! And Ijust got done watching that poor Chinese gal go down hard on the ice in the pairs figure skating... and then she got up and completed her program! My husband and I sat there and cried through the whole thing. There's just something special about the Olympics that makes you emotional. That and PMS. I don't know what hubby's excuse is, except that he's even more sentimental than I am!

I'm in my hotel room watching the Olympics on Eurosport. What a treat! For the figure skating events they show practically every single competitor, and for a (former) die-hard skating fan like me that's simply thrilling. It's shown live, there are very few commercials, the phluffitude is minimal, and best of all, it's not All Michelle All The Time !

I was able to watch the entire pairs competition last night - woo hoo Shen & Zhao, I cried buckets during *their* performance, waaay too cool (for the uninitiated, they're the ones who ultimately came in 3rd - he just came back against all odds from a torn Achilles tendon, a simply amazing recovery).

I came in late from a department dinner tonight and the men's short program was well underway, so I was disappointed to find out I had already missed Plyushenko, Weir, Lambiel and Buttle. Ah, but I got to see Matt Savoie, which made up for all.

I'm kind of sad I'm flying home on Thursday, I would have loved to be here Thursday night to watch the men's free skate in real time. I guess I'll just have to settle for the NBC broadcast, rats
