Shorts for people with small thighs?

I've bought very good cycling shorts and even the most expensive ones have elastic that's not tight enough around my thighs. If I go a size smaller, I can't breathe with the waistband. Any brands/ models that you'd recommend for small thigh people? I don't have cycling thunder thighs YET!

My thighs are smaller than they once were, and I have this issue with some shorts. I currently am in love with my Suguoi RS shorts - for both the compressive fabric AND the chamois. My small PI shorts are too lose in hips and legs, but my RS are fine.

Oh, I wish I had such problems. Even when I'm thin, my thighs are not especially so.

I can attest that Catrin does, in fact, have thin thighs so her RS suggestion is a good one. I've worn that short myself. The material is amazingly stretchy and compressive at the same time. It can fit a lot of different sizes.

If XS (I am 5ft 1in about 114 pounds using XS shorts) is still loose on you, you might want to consider XL youth sizes. I even bought a pair of child biker shorts for my 7yo daughter (who is the size of a 4 yo) from Aerotechdesigns.com.

I don't put on a lot of thigh bulk. Pearl Izumi in small works well for me, and on Catrin's recommendation I ordered 2 pairs of the RS shorts.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

I am 5'3 and have 10 pounds on you and take a small... it seems reasonable to try an XS

Just bought a pair of Pearl attack shorts and love them. They don't have the normal narrow band gripper on the leg - it is a ~3" band of stretchy fabric that holds onto your leg without cutting off your circulation.

Call the office and ask to speak to Renata. She has slender thighs relative to the size shorts she wears, and would be happy to help you find something, based on what's worked for her. Me, I'm on the other end of the spectrum. BIG thighs relative to my shorts size, so I'm not the right person to answer your question. :-) You can reach Renata between 8am and 3:30pm Pacific time. 877-310-4592.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks Susan- I did call and speak with Renata. I tried the RS and they were still too loose in the leg. Since the small's fit well in the waist and hip, I think I might just stitch up the leg opening!
