Ride On Tucson w/ Patrick Dempsey, Tommy Danielson

I went a really fun event today that in Tucson- Tommy Danielson (Garmin-Sharp), trains here in the winter, and is good friends with Patrick Dempsey ("Dr. McDreamy" from Gray's Anatomy) organized a ride through downtown Tucson for all ages. They managed to get the needed funds, permits, etc fast-tracked in just 3 weeks. I got a chance to say thanks to both of them at various points in the ride.

And on the 4th lap of the 2+ mile circuit, I was riding right next to Tommy Danielson- in fact, I was ahead of him! Ok, ok, we were only going about 10 mph, but still, I was ahead of him.

It was a good community event with lots of families with kids, and every kind of bike imaginable.

How fun!! I don't know if I would care as much about Patrick Dempsey, but meeting and riding with Tommy Danielson, wow!

On the lap next to Tommy Danielson I had a really short chance to thank him, and mostly he was talking to a couple of guys riding with him, but there were very few other riders around us. Then a tv crew called him over to interview him with some little kids near the end of the lap. I'll put up a couple of pics soon.
