    Favorite indie singer/songwriter

I have had a Pandora account for awhile and one of the things I love about it is that I have been introduced to some really awesome indie artists. So I thought it might be fun for us to list our top 5 ish favorite less than famous singer/songwriters and expand each other's horizons. I'll go first.

    Dar Williams
    Patty Griffin
    Vienna Teng
    Antje Duvekot
    Kris Delhorst

Not necessarily all that obscure ... but here are a few of mine:

Erin McKeown (new crowdfunded album just out!)
    Nellie McKay
    Chuck Prophet

    and on the "folkier" side...

    Eliza Gilkyson
    Elizabeth Cook

And I've gotta give a shout-out to Spyche, even though her only solo album is over ten years old - she MAY be coming out with a new one soon...

Are you guys going to make me upgrade my eMusic.com membership? I should start a hip-hop thread, too.

I love, love, love Patty Griffin. I'm not familiar with three of the singers you listed; I'll have to check them out.

Some others I like: Neko Case, Cat Power, Sarah Harmer, Feist, and Gillian Welch--for women. I also like Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and Josh Ritter--for men. I just got The Civil Wars cd, Barton Hollow. It's very good if you like some harmony.
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.
