I know for a fact, because she told me so, that after I had my daughter, I called my pregnant best friend at 2:30 in the morning and said, "Whatever you do, don't have your baby!" But when I think back on the experience now, it doesn't seem so bad.
Now when I got off my bike Saturday evening, after riding from 7:30 AM till 5:00 PM for my first 200k, my quads were toast and I couldn't stand for more than five minutes and I sat in my truck before driving home and wondered if it would be bad to call BF for a ride. I couldn't even muster the will to pack up my stuff and leave! I _remember_ thinking there was no way, then, that I could go another four hours which is what it would take to do 300k.
After a nice bath, though, and a couple glasses of wine, there I am on the computer looking for the next event. At that time, I was still leery of 300k, but reasoned that a 12 hour race would be just the ticket. Now two days later, there's the 300k marked on my calendar like I'm really going to do it.
Granted, I would have to invest in a real light. But there I am reading Long Distance Cycling, how they say after 200 miles, nothing changes, and I'm believing it! I'm thinking to myself, now, if I did a 300k brevet February 4th, could I do a 12 hour race two weeks later?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??
All I know is, after doing the longest ride ever, Saturday, now it's Tuesday and I am peppy, rejuvenated, can't find a single sore spot on my body, and I'm ready to go further. I'm sick!

Well, I guess that would explain why my girl bits hurt so much after a long ride.![]()

My daughter was delivered by a midwife- named STEVE!!
He said he was one of four males in the country at the time, 1983.

Yay for Steve! Last I heard, there were about 30 male CNMs (Certified Nurse-Midwife) in the US. I went to school with one of them--Darryn--a loving, compassionate, smart, hard-working man, absolutely committed to helping women have safer, gentler births. Yay for you for welcoming Steve into your life back in '83.Originally Posted by Nanci

This thread got me chuckling! Let's see, pg my feet were swollen and I got 'roids - now my girl bits itch and get rubbed raw on long rides. As for childbirth, mentally similar but my scar from my cs is much bigger than my two scars from crashing - but I'm proud of all three!
