Red face What did I just do? New bike on the way!

I've been wanting to get a light fast road bike for a couple of summers. Well, when this came up on EBAY last night I just couldn't resist.

The rest of the parts for the build I already have except for the wheels. I'm a little concerned about the fit - it will probably be a bit small. I've never bought a bike without trying it, but for the price I can probably turn it around next season if it doesn't work.

I mean really, how could a person resist such a gorgeous frame!

DOH! OH NO! It's a Triathalon bike - not a road bike. I guess I had a severe case of shiny object syndrome. Rehabbing inside with a bad knee has made me go a little crazy in the head I guess...sigh...

Anyone interested in buying this gorgeous 49~51cm never been built frame?

You could ask the seller. They can cancel auctions with mutual consent and not be charged a final value fee (i.e., they get their money back). Since buyers can now screw sellers on ratings, many sellers will do this. Heck - I just did it on a pair of shoes because a flaky buyer "changed her mind." Might be worth asking...

Oh, if I had ANY interest in a TT bike I would totally be considering it, but we just ordered a new mountain bike for me, so I have no bike budget at the moment, anyhow. Pity, since that would be my size and it's stunning!

Well, I messaged the seller about canceling the transaction. I hope he is agreeable to it. The $$$ is already gone from the credit card. If he does not, then I will post it in the For Sale sub-forum.

Such a shame, this bike is STUNNING and with nice components too :-( I would love to keep it, but from what I have read, it's not really practical to convert a tri bike to a road bike due to the geometry.

The seller has agreed to cancel the transaction. It's a good thing, I was starting to talk myself into believing that it could be a nice road bike.. it just might fit... maybe it wouldn't be too uncomfortable... A long tall stem would probably bring the bars up high enough .. the 76degree seat tube angle isn't much more than a regular WSD bike..

You get the idea.. I had already started pricing setback seatposts and wheel sets - Not smart. :-b
