I received a nice biking compliment today!

I was riding with a group of 22 people this morning. I hung back and I was the last one. Before I passed two people walking a dog, I yelled, "On your left!" As I passed I said, "and I think I am the last one." The lady replied to my yell, "And I think you are the most considerate one." I think no one in our group except the leader may have said, "on your left," because the group was so large. Still, we were spread out enough at that time that someone could have said it again.

Courtesy doesn't cost a dime so you would think it would be more common. It's always nice to get recognized for being polite and doing the right thing. Good job!

I've had a few walkers say similar things to me after letting them know I was going to pass. It is disappointing to find out that many bike riders must be very rude.
