    What a beautiful afternoon!

The weather here in Kentucky has been very unusual for the start of the year, but I'm not complaining or at least not loudly (I do like snow but I also like to be able to ride the back roads around here). I was able to ride Sunday in the LBC Polar Bear Ride - a great way to kick off the new year as well as celelbrate my birthday. Today we were treated to yet another beautiful day so I promptly left work at 3:30 dashed home, changed clothes, grabbed my bike and hit the road. It felt great to be outside with the sun shining down upon me. I was only able to get in 13 miles but they were a wonderful 13 miles. The cold air is moving back in tomorrow so it is back to the trainer for the next few days. I hope everyone is having a good new year and happy biking ladies!

Hey - happy birthday! (OK, so it's a little late...)

Enjoy the good riding weather while you can. For me, it's important to ride when I can, and I try to take advantage of any reasonable riding weather. Love those unseasonable days, sounds like that's what you're enjoying right now.

Here in Massachusetts we do a Polar Bear Swim on New Years. People actually pay money to jump in the frigid waters of the Atlantic on New Years morning...nope Corsair, I ain't got the stones for it The money they raise goes to soup kitchens and other worthy charities.

and Very Happy Birthday Mak - sounds like your day was just perfect!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
