As someone who volunteers at this event, and hopes to be advanced enough to ride in next year, this is well worth attending. It is a LOT of fun! Last year there was a great bluegrass band that played on Saturday evening, lots of exhibitors and demos and so forth during the day on Saturday, as well as a free "family ride" for those who may not be riding on Sunday. During the actual event on Sunday there was live music at the rest stops. There is a camping area set aside just for this event, and as it isn't in the usual campgrounds but on the far side of the park from the campgrounds, it really does feel like a mountain bike village for the weekend
It isn't really "just" a ride, it is an entire weekend filled with a lot of fun. All fundraising events should be so fun
