    Good thoughts/Prayers for a friend

I believe in the power of crowd-sourced good energy.

One of my best friends was hit by a car yesterday as she was coming home from the farmers market across the street from her house. She was airlifted to the trauma unit at Beth Deacon Israel in Boston, and had surgery this morning for her 2 broken legs and fractured pelvis. It will be at least two months before she can stand, and 3 before they begin rehab to help her walk again.

It's incredible how much bad can happen to a really wonderful, amazing, lovely person. She *just* finished her last round of radiation for breast cancer a month ago. While she was going through chemo, she was also in the process of divorcing her husband, who was cheating on her while she was sick. She also has numerous other health issues, but maintained her own apartment, and independence through it all, by walking dogs when she could, and helping out others in her community.

This, though, will put a limit on that, obviously. She has a long long long road ahead of her, so if you can spare some prayers, light a candle, send thoughts of strength and health to her, say the Mi Sheberakh or anything that resonates in your faith/world view....the power of many is appreciated. My friend is strong, but sometimes a girl needs an army.

Good thoughts and prayers sent. Hugs to your friend and to you.

It remains to be seen, but I think there is a donation fund being set up by someone else in our circle of friends. I was trying to brainstorm ways to fundraise, but I'm terrible at that sort of thing. Thank goodness we have some others in our circle who can figure out the basics of stuff like that, plus people who live closer.

Thank you for the good thoughts. It sounds like she came through surgery fine, and they were able to reset her legs, with pins in her pelvis, but no major joint damage. Her brain activity was "under stress" but unchanged during overnight monitoring, so I guess that's a good thing?

Healing good juju to Friend of Chatnoire.

Hope she has a speedy recovery, gets to actually enjoy her summer, and the whims of life are in her favor.

    Hi all!
Prayers work wonders! The power of group energy is a great thing. Aimee had surgery on Saturday, after the accident, and then on Tuesday was transferred to a rehab hospital where she'll be for about 2 months. I don't know what the protocol is on the boards for this type of thing, but we did set up a fundraising account for her expenses and animal care while she is in the hospital. The link is in my signature. It has a bit more updated info, and you can also follow the facebook page:

Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts!

Positive thoughts and hugs being sent your way. There is no better place to get positive energy than from the ladies on this forum...I can truly attest to that!
