For under sixty dollars, this is the best purchase we have made! Our tile floors are so clean and feel great. No chemicals, no build up, and easy. It gets great reviews. Just thought I would pass it along!

That looks cool! I have a Bissell hard floor cleaner that vacuums or steams, but it's really heavy and doesn't work all that well. I have a newer vacuum-only model that I like much better, but still have to mop the floor, which I never feel works that well.

Are those pads washable? I wonder how well that would work for unfinished pine floors (which we need to finish...DH thought it would be great to not finish them, but they are not holding up well under our office chairs or in high traffic areas).

You're not supposed to steam any unsealed floors. That goes for floating floors of any kind. I think if hardwood floors have a heavy polyurethane finish over top of the whole thing it might be okay, but I'd definitely RTFM before trying it, and be safe rather than sorry.

I broke the nozzle on mine. Might have to get a new one, the oven needs cleaned...

Yes, the pads are simply cotton cloth, and are washable.

It does say for hard surfaces but I am not sure if this includes wood.

Are you still loving this? Now that we've added another 500ftsq of engineered bamboo too the house, I really need something else to help with floor care. Any other devices people are loving?

I've had mine for about 4 years. Still going strong & love it. I also have a floor washer machine that dispenses soapy water, brushes, sucks up soapy water, rinses, sucks up rinse water. As you can tell, it takes a long time, it is big & hard to handle AND if I use the Eureka over it, I still end up with a dirty pad because all of the dirt wasn't sucked up.

My dog has allergies, so I wanted something that would really clean the floors including pollen. Steam is recommended for that.

I have the Bissel Green Tea steam mop. I'm not sure how "sanitary" it is to be dragging the microfibre cloth that gets dirtier as it goes along. It only disinfects when you have the steam on full blast on a particular spot for 30 seconds. It would take me about 2 days for me to disinfect my apartment. Not to mention being literally cornered while waiting for the floor to dry. I still use it but it doesn't feel all that clean to me afterwards (because of the cloth that's been dragged all over the surface).

I have a different steamer with a bigger tank. I love it. I just attach cotton towels to the end and change whenever it looks funky.

The Eureka dries in just a minute - doesn't dispense a boat load of water, just steam. I turn it over when it gets funky & change pads when it gets really dirty. The tile does feel cleaner.

Somebody with lots of time on their hands did a huge comparison (on Amazon) between the Eureka and other steamers. They measured steam temperatures & all sorts of things. They decided the Eureka was much better.
