    Fluctuation

So what do you consider "normal" fluctuation in your weight? We all know that you don't stay at one number even when you are maintaining your weight. It seems like I've got about a 4 pound range, depending on what I've been eating; time of the month, and how well my system is processing.

When we travel I retain a LOT of water, which kind of sucks but I've learned to pack all my roomier clothes after a couple of trips where hardly anything fit after a few days.

I weigh myself every day because I am collecting data on my weight trends. I weight under the same conditions, the same time of the day. I fluctuate within about a three pound range. During the day I have even greater variability. I may weigh 103.5 first thing in the morning and 107 in the afternoon. My weight will go up after a lot of exercise, but then come down a day or two later.

I am post menopause so those issues no longer apply to me.

Here is a graft of my weight at maintenance, look at how jumpy it is:

I am pretty much the same. I weigh myself every AM, no clothes on, first thing after peeing. Even 2 hours later, I will be up 2 pounds. This has been my pattern for years. When I first started riding, I would often lose weight after hard rides, but now, I don't. I don't notice much of the water weight gain that others mention after exercise; for me, it seems to just happen and I can't figure out the triggers. Usually, I will use some type of weight training/core workout to jump start a loss of this type of weight.
I am long post-menopausal, but I used to gain 5 lbs. regularly, the week before my period. That was normal. I had to make sure my "regular" weight was lower, so my clothes would fit me throughout the month.
My weight goes up after the weekend, when I eat out a lot and I eat more food than usual. I am fairly disciplined, but I cannot deny myself everything. Usually, by Tuesday, the extra pound or two is gone.

These days, my weight will range from 128-131 (early morning, getting dressed for a run). Except for the few days before my period comes, when it can go as high as 133. I think it's mainly due to craving salty things that time of month...

Up to about a pound and a half during the day. Long runs days (or when yellow comes to visit), increases that about another half pound.
