I bought my first "real" bike about 5 years ago--a Kona Dew hybrid, which has served me well for commuting and a short overnight camping/cycle.
I'm planning a month long self-supporting tour of PEI this summer. My first big cycling adventure. And I'm itching to upgrade to something that will make my experience a little more pleasurable. I'm open to either upgrading components to my existing bike, or buying a new bike altogether. My budget is $2000.
I still feel like a newbie to cycling, and I'm not really sure what I need to know or ask while shopping.
I do know that I don't want to drop that kind of money on a bike solely for the purpose of touring, because it will likely be my only big cycling adventure. So, when I get back home, I'd like to it be my new everyday bike as well.
