    Sidis and a senior moment

I'm sitting here watching the Super Bowl and I figured halftime is a good time to jump on the indoor trainer and ride with Coach Troy for a half hour or so. I've got everything set up, bike clothes on, water bottle is full, DVD in the machine, I put on my right shoe, inadvertently tighten it too much...

...and then I can't remember how to loosen the strap.

I've been wearing Sidis since 2004 and I suddenly can't remember how the buckle works.

I'm squeezing and pushing and playing around with it and all I can do is tighten it more. I look on the Sidi website, but there's no "how to work the buckle" link.

    Finally I figured it out.

But it's so easy!! Even in my worst glycogen-depleted post-ride haze I can get my shoes off. How could I forget something like that??

    I think I'm losing it.

    - Gray 2010 carbon WSD road bike, Rivet Independence saddle
    - Red hardtail 26" aluminum mountain bike, Bontrager Evoke WSD saddle
    - Royal blue 2018 aluminum gravel bike, Rivet Pearl saddle

    Gone but not forgotten:
    - Silver 2003 aluminum road bike
    - Two awesome worn out Juliana saddles

I have a pair that's an older model and another that's a newer model and they have different mechanisms. Both are easy to work but I don't have to be anything-depleted to occasionally wonder how the heck the pair I'm wearing works! I think I'm better at switching between SRAM and Shimano.

If it's any comfort to you, about 4-5 years ago I totally blanked out on how to turn on the windshield wiper fluid. It totally freaked me out. I had to pull over and look it up in the damn manual. But nothing like that has happened since then. So know that it can happen...but that it doesn't necessarily imply anything bigger.

I forgot my ATM pin number that I had had for years! Had to go inside the bank, show id and get a new one.

+1 on this. I recently could not remember how to wind the bobbin in my sewing machine. Really scared me, but nothing else happened.
