Cooper Avaira Contact Lens Recall

Just a PSA. Posting it here because I didn't get a call from the optometrist who prescribed them and sold me my first boxes, I didn't get an email from the place where I bought my next box, I only got a snailmail yesterday, dated December 11, saying there's a potential safety issue with these lenses. So in case anyone else missed it - if you wear Cooper Avaira (either toric or spherical) check your lens lot numbers against their website.

this is off-topic, but does anyone know what I should do with 6 boxes of contacts (6 pairs in each box) I no longer need as I had laser eye surgery?

My optometrist's office won't take them back and they're good til 2015 so seem like a shame to just throw them out.
