    couch to 13.1miles walking?

I have seen (and used) the couch to 5K program for running - is there an equivalent training plan for preparing to walk a 1/2 marathon? I've signed up to walk the Portland Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon next May, and I tend to stick to training better if I have an actual training plan.

    Thanks for any help!

Check out USA Fit. I believe Portland has a program. I just did 6 months with Denver Fit and it was great to have company for the Saturday runs, as well as the knowledge and training schedule they provided. We had two different pace groups for the full marathon, walkers, and a half marathon running group, but it varies by city.

Why not just use Hal Higdon's running program but walk the miles instead of running?

Bonus: I just went to his website and he has a program specific to walking! It's here.
