Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. You're a bit more north, looks like your colors are changing just a little faster than here in PDX. Fun adventure day from the sounds of it. Beautiful area for sure.

Wow...a beautiful northwest autumn day. I caught the 10:15 ferry from Whidbey Island to Port Townsend with plans to ride to Ft. Flagler on Marrowstone Island. I decided to ride the Surley instead of my Bianchi road bike (need to spread the love).
It was a bit chilly, but still a great day for a bike ride. The sun was out, minimal traffic and almost no wind....it doesn't get better than that! This was new territory for me - so the day had a good vibe.
Lots of rolling hills and beautiful views of the puget sound and small bays (really like Mystery Bay). I stopped at a cute general store in Nordland and enjoyed sitting on the porch in the sun drinking an fashioned Coke (in the glass bottle) ahhhhh....
Toured most of Ft. Flagler (was a bit windy there...but that is expected since it is on the water) - found the bike camping spot (for next years "sub 24-hour bike/camp trip) and even found some good spots for launching my kayak...Bonus!
The ride back to the ferry was enjoyable. Reminds me again that the simple pleasures are the best! It ended up being around 60 miles in all.
These day trips help to curb my "wanderlust syndrome".
Sharing some pictures....I hope you enjoy!

Wow, that sounds like a perfect biking day. What a great adventure, makes me wish I was there and did that ride, how cool a ferry boat ride with a bike.
Great pictures, thanks for sharing that. I love to read about where other people ride in different parts of the country, or world for that matter!
