    Another bike fashion question

    To disable ads, please log-in.

As I sit here with my broken foot, I am thinking about what I want to do with the colors on my bike.

It came with these really ugly tires (not in stock picture) with an off-white strip on one side that don't look good with the pure white trim on the bike, so I want to replace those and have about enough mileage to justify it now. I have replaced the white saddle with a black one.

It also has the white handlebar tape that I want to get rid of for practical reasons. I either want to tone it down and just go basic black, or add a nice contrasting color. But what to do with the kind of teal/aqua color?

If I could find the EXACT right shade of teal for the bar tape, that would be good, and just do black tires. Or, go for it and add contrasting bar tape (pink? orange?) and tires with a color stripe. Any advice?

I vote for matching the teal. Deda has a Sea Foam Green that might work.

It doesn't really look like it in the picture, but if it's the same color as the Madone I saw last weekend, it's a match for Bianchi celeste, and that's the color tape she had on hers.

Bontrager makes about a thousand different colors of bar tape, including a similar teal color.

This might work for tire color:

    Pro 3

I have them on my Sirrus and they look more teal than blue. You'd have to see them up close to actually match though.

I'd like to get some tires in a deep orange for the Sirrus, but everything is orange or neon.

    Beautiful bike.

Yep, I vote for teal/sea foam green/ Celeste color. It would be really close in match, but because the teal color on your bike is just a "trim" instead of the whole bike like Bianchi's, no one will really notice any shade differences. :-)

I saw a madone at the LBS a few weeks back that was similar to yours (maybe the same?) and it had teal handle bar tape. It was sweet! I had bike lust!

I am leaning toward the sea foam color too with plain black tires. As soon as I get back on my feet (literally), off to the the bike shop I go! Got to get her checked out after the crash anyway, plus I broke my on bike pump. Thanks for the input!

    Oooh!
Is it the color of the LEoPard Trek kit?

It does look the same as the Leopard Trek kit color. The Glorycycle site is a lot cheaper for the handlebar tape, though.
