    Family Biking Vacations

    To disable ads, please log-in.

We are looking into a family biking vacation with Western Spirit. There is one in West Virginia that sounded like a good starter thing to do with our two girls 7 and 10.
Has anyone done anything like this before?
    Thanks!

Have you seen the Feldmann's journal over at crazyguyonabike.com? They did their first tour as a family back in 2002 when their boys were 7 and 10. And this year they rode from British Columbia to Newfoundland! You can find their journals at http://bikefamily.crazyguyonabike.com.

While their tour was self-supported and I think what you are thinking about is a supported tour, I imagine that the reactions of their boys to touring might be helpful.

We did a Western Spirit tour earlier this year. One of the other guests was another guide who had been doing the Family Tours in the Redwoods. It sounded like a pretty good program.

Western Spirit was awesome - great food, personable guides who really knew their stuff.

    Thanks guys
Yes- it would be supported -including a kids staff person to help keep them entertained and meals. The accomidations would be camping- they carry your camping stuff for you on the van. The staff will also take the kids on to camp and let you ride- If I understand correctly.
