Tell me about your favorite gloves...

I am currently wearing PI Gel Vent gloves and mostly like them, though I bought them too large (because the mediums felt so snug in the store--but it turns out they stretch), then start to pull on the areas between the bases of my fingers.

I'm open to trying something new. My hubby has some of those $65 leather Giro gloves and loves them, but I'm not sure I want to spend THAT much on a pair of gloves, since I tend to lose them (I had 2 pair of the PIs, but am back down to 1, heh). Something in the $30-40 neighborhood would be preferable. I really like the gel palm cushions, too.

I love my Shebeest gloves. They are super comfy and they wash and wear well. The little microfiber cloth across the thumb also seems larger than on my PI gloves and it makes it a little easier to wipe your nose and the sweat from your eyes. TE used to have them in black & white too - I have the white version - but the link is for the pink and blue ones.

I'm no help in this regard. I like the PI Gel Vents myself.

And now I see that they changed them. Grrr. I should have bought another pair last year. Mine are starting to look ratty.

I really like mine, too. I am tempted to try the new ones in a more appropriate size.

It's been my experience that, when it comes to gloves, PI's sizing is a bit larger than other manufacturers.

Right now, I have a pair of Giordana Silverline gloves that I like. They're lightly-padded in only the important spots, don't have velcro, and there's lots of real estate for nose wiping.

I'm on the border between a small and a medium. I bought the small because the medium was a little too big, plus DBF warned me that they stretch. (He has the non-crazy vents version.)

I picked up some cheapy Specialized gloves from the LBS as a pair of spares, as I don't like my current spares. They're actually surprisingly comfy, though I need the crazy vents so I'm not going to use them on really long/hot rides. They also match my bike.

EDIT: My gloves are a men's small. I think I would take a medium in women's.

Well...I'm back to using a new pair of women's Spenco Ironman Elite T.2 cycling gloves. I had fairly good success with these last year, but needed a new pair so I ordered some a few weeks back from Amazon. They're a bit pricey...in the $36-42 range, but I like the fact that they don't close at the wrist. Instead, they close with their "Rip-It" system, which is a velcro closure on the back of the hand. Very easy to get off and sometimes I just ride with the velcro "open" to give my hands a bit more air. I ordered mediums this time around (I normally wear L or XL in women's gloves) and they fit good. Lots of gel padding on the palm, and a very large terry nose-wiping area on the thumb.

I'm still searching for my "favorite gloves." I have a lot of PI gloves and they aren't bad, but hard to get a consistent fit.

But I can tell that the best fitting gloves I've ever owned are Terry, but they are also the worst gloves I've ever had. The velcro is reversed - so when you wipe your nose, you are presented with the needle side of the velcro instead of the fleecey side. VERY PAINFUL! What were they thinking?

My favorite gloves are ones that do not have holes in them. Sadly, all mine have holes at the moment...

These Giordana gloves @ Team Estrogen are a staff favorite. I love em. First impression was they were too padded, But i loved em after the first ride. Only thing wrong with them is they are red and starting to fade after two years. PI's never lasted through the summer for me.

Any glove with pull-tabs that fit me are my favorite. Pull tabs are a deciding factor for me. Everything else being equal. Heck - most of the time I won't even bother unless they have pull tabs on them.

Botrangers. They are the only gloves I can find with absolutely no padding. They cost $40.00 and they are never on sale . Anywhere. But, I was desperate last year, as my hands were killing me and it was definitely from the tiny amount of padding in my Terry and PI gloves.
