    Kinesio Tape

I think this has been discussed before but I can't find it. Anyone have experience with Kinesio tape? I have been having some dull aching in my shoulder. Partially from use mountain biking, some from crashing mountain biking. It isn't an injury that needs medical attention but it is annoying like a dull ache tends to be. Some days it is more noticeable and uncomfortable to sleep or use but again not painful just unpleasant. It of course it also the side I sleep on. I was considering trying the Spidertech Pre-cut tape for it but was wondering if it really helps with minor pain.

IMO, kinesio tape does help with pain and healing. I've used it for my IT band, and DH uses it for a weird patellar tendon thing that flares up every so often. We've tried a couple of different brands and settled on Rocktape. It seems to be the stickiest, longest-lasting, and stretchiest (so it's more comfortable). We never tried Spidertech though.

I suppose that kinesio tape's benefits might depend on the nature of the injury....

I've used it for a strained hamstring. It did really help.

Mine seems to be a mild overuse injury but I can't really pinpoint what it is. There is definitely some discomfort, some range of motion dampened. It kind of reminds me of when I had tendonitis from bowling and "runner's knee". One of those ones that is just kind of a nuisance. You may not be in terrible pain but you are aware of the discomfort. No swelling, no overwhelming pain.

In my totally uneducated opinion, that sounds exactly like something I would tape. The trick becomes figuring out how to tape it. I really need to break down and buy a taping manual...but this is what I have been using.

That is why I was thinking the SpiderTech, it is pre-cut for how to apply to the specific area. I will order some and give my opinion.
