Outdoor Bike Storage for a Balcony

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    Hi All,

This summer I will have two new road bikes that are fairly expensive. I live in Manhattan and have a smallish (but decent for the city) balcony. I'd like to store my bikes there since my apartment is small. So theft is not an issue. Do you have any recommendations for storage? The concern is protecting the bikes from the weather. Price is not really an issue...making sure the bike holds up is. Do the "bike caves" work? Or one of the metal or vinyl storage sheds? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome to TE! I'd encourage you to search - this exact topic has been covered recently. A quick search finds this and this. Don't know if anything there would work for your bikes or not.

Are you high up enough to not worry about theft?

The Rubbermaid Horizontal Storage looks pretty nice. IMO. Plus if you move to another place and can store your bikes indoors, you could use this storage unit for other things. Just my 2 cents.
