    Triathlon Results

I participated in my second ever sprint triathlon this past weekend (4.1 mile run, 14 mile bike, 4 mile kayak). It was pouring rain and windy (15 mph winds with 20 mph gusts) the whole time!

I met my time goals for the running and kayak. I was off my cycling goal by over a minute (and off my fastest cycling time for that course by over 3 minutes). But given that it rained so hard that I could barely see the road and that I nearly got blown off my bike three times by the wind I went home happy (and soaked to the bone).

My big disappointment was that I didn't get to use my new bright red Serotta Fierte for the race. I didn't want to bring her out in the nasty weather and risk wiping out. My trusty purple Terry Classic served me well.

I came in 4th overall for women iron persons and 2nd in my division.

Congratulations - sounds like you did a great job even with the rain.

very nice results ma'am! congrats on a job well done!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
