    P12, second leg

In January, I decided to try for a P12, which is twelve 100k rides, one a month for a year.
I completed my second today, and it was much easier than the freezing one I did in January.
I went to Hillsboro OR and did the snoozeville 100k permanent on the tandem with my husband. The weather was miraculously clement.
Never rained, light wind, temps between 48 and 58...
I saw too many roadkill animals for my liking, but other than that, all was good. We almost "timed out" when we decided to sit down for lunch at a sleepy restaurant. We sat for almost 30 minutes before we got our drinks... Realized we were running out of time for the next control and cancelled our order... ate our peanut butter sandwiches instead!!
after we made it to the next control (with 6 minutes to spare!!) we had a tailwind, and ended up finishing in less than 6 hours.

I have 10 more to go...

Where are the rest of the details?

    Veronica

Thank you! Sounds like a bunch of fun. And it's always nice to spend the day with your honey.

Veronica; 64 miles, 1540 feet of climb, 4:37 saddle time, 5:55 total time average speed was about 13.8.
We rode through farm country and a bit of suburbia. I was very excited when we rode by a new development under construction with a portapotty!! WoOHOOO! clean even!
no flats, no rashes, no nasty motor vehicles or even close calls.
There's nothing like a tailwind on a tandem on low rolling hills.

WOW- sounds like an incredible goal to shoot for (and a lot of fun at that!). Congrats on two down for the year!
Do you get to choose the route each time?
The closest permanents are a mere 400 miles away, so Ranndoneuring is out of the question for me. It sounds really interesting, tho- and I'd love to try it sometime.
