    mid week ride- not

    To disable ads, please log-in.

today at 7:00 AM it was 70 degrees. Today at 7:30 AM it was 40 degrees. Today by 8:00 AM it was 32 degrees with a 20 mph wind, gusting to 40 mph, from the north, making a feels like temp of 24 degrees. Tomorrow is more of the same only with feels like temperatures in the single digits. Don't think I'm riding tomorrow. My only reaction to this is "Come on guys, this is Houston Texas. Whatever happened to Houston heat and humidity.?"

We didn't even hit ZERO in Denver today - they were saying on the news that even the Super Bowl isn't safe from the weather!

Ummm, yeah...no riding for me in the near future. I have a 4-foot high snow drift in my driveway that will probably take me & DH all day to clear out (no snowblower here). Temps dropping below zero tonight, and a high of 11 tomorrow. Ahhh...ya gotta love living in the Midwest, huh? This snow will probably not melt until April...if we're lucky!

yeah... my mid-week ride is going to be on my trainer in my living room (and every ride for at least a week or two). The blizzard we had yesterday has just ruined all my commuting/riding plans.

Our high today is 13. Good enough to put my yak trax on and run in the neighborhood, and maybe even put some zip ties on my mtn bike tires and try some snow biking.

    Nscrbug,

I'm in the Chi-burbs too and it's still coming down. One of my co-workers is 6'7" and there is a drift against his back door which is taller than him...

No riding for a long time for us. I predict a very muddy spring in our future!

My last outdoor ride was Dec. 11th. The snow has never had a chance to melt before getting another blast of it. I have lived on LI all my life and never remember a winter such as this.

I think groundhog did not see his shadow so spring should be right around the corner I hope!!
