    I finally did it!

I purchased on Friday but picked her up Saturday...my new C'dale CAAD 10 105. I rode her Saturday for 13+ mi and it felt wonderful. I can't wait to pursue this new journey. So much to learn still but will be fun either way.

Probably will be looking into a trainer too. I've been told the Cycleops Mag+ should be plenty for me. Guess a pad too. and lights, something to stash keys/cell phone, lock, shorts...the list tends to grow every time I turn around...any suggestions?

    I did purchase a helmet...

Congrats on the new bike! And yes, post some pictures if you can

Did you get a saddle bag and spare tube(s), tire levers, C02 cartriges? If not that should be high on your list, too. You can get different sized saddle bags so you could get one in a size where you could stash your keys / phone in it (although I personally like to keep my phone on me while riding).

    Congratulations on your new bike.

however, if you keep your cell phone on you it is a good idea to put it into a zip lock bag. That way when it bounces out of your pocket while riding over chip seal and slides into the ditch on the side of the road which is full of rain, you have a running chance of having it still being functional. Aside from the fact that I sweat thru jerseys like a horse and this is the best solution to keeping it dry any way. Second the vote for gloves and eye protection along with an under saddle tool bag with requisite bits and pieces. Also make sure you carry a copy of your id,along with some cash and or a low limit credit card so that you can replenish or bail if necessary.
