Talking I rode 2,696 miles this year! How about you?

Today I took my last ride of 2010. After being sick for several weeks, I'm SERIOUSLY out of shape. The weather couldn't have been better, though (68 degrees!) and I had one of the happiest rides I can remember. Happy New Year's everybody!!!

    1,827 miles as of today

This time a year ago I had only taken one little riding attempt in a parking lot to see if I could actually ride my new bike - having no idea if I COULD ride but really wanted to learn - so therefore I did. I've come a long way baby, even with the lingering injuries since Sept that has kept me off the bike.

2561 on my Garmin that I've had since June. I figure I do about 5-6K per year total. (I rarely drive)

3674, for 2010 as of 1 hour ago.

Celebrated my last ride of the year: a chilly 15 miles to Saguaro National Park and back from my house in 42 degree temps! (that's practically unheard of for a daytime high in Tucson)

I didn't keep track of my miles exactly (new bike, new computer . . . )
However, if you include trainer miles, it is around 5000mi give or take. Kinda low for me actually, but a lot of intensity this year instead of the endurance of last year.

My goal for 2010 was 7,000...but I came up a bit short at 6,959. I am very pleased with that, but for 2011 I will hit that 7,000 mark...if it's the last thing I do.

You know, in the past I could tell you. But in 2010, I decided to ride for joy and fitness rather than miles, speed, cadence, etc. It is quite liberating.

I didn't keep track exactly (not all my bikes have computers on them, plus I had some malfunctions on the ones that do), but I'm somewhere around 5,000 miles for the year, outside. I have no idea how many additional trainer miles I have - that would add about 40-50 miles per week for the last 4 months.

For 2011, I plan to ride Paris-Brest-Paris, so I've set myself the ambitious goal of riding 5000 miles before July 31st. I'm also voing to do a better job keeping track!

I started 2011 by riding 128 miles on New year's Day, so I'm off to a good start. :-) 4872 to go!
