Hi, Im 16 and quite into cycling, in a couple of months (8 weeks) Im going to be cycling around lake taupo in a race. Its 160kms longs and i did it last year. My question is that my mother wants to do the ride as well this week. She only told me two days ago. I would like any help with training or anything really. My mums around 40 years old and aint really bike fit. I know she can do this but i would just like a little help. Weve just gotten a wind trainer for her/me to use while its raining/ dark.

Sounds like a great ride. Do you get Bicycling Mag? In the September issue it had a program on training for a 100 miles basically the distance you will be doing in KMS. Its over 10 weeks but im sure if your Mum has some basic fitness you could adapt it to 8. If you dont have this mag Im sure there would be some programs on the web.
