Jeans for thunder thighs and rotund rear

    Hey guys,

Im a 35 year old mum who is obsessed with hill cycling. I live in northumberland england (UK) and so make the most of our hilly grounds. i also try my hand at brazilian jui jitsu and spinning twice a week.

I love forums like these. Im not great with computers but whenever i get a virus i just hate the internet but forums like these make me value what getting groups of women together and arranging roadies is truely awesome.

Anyway as a consequence of my sporting obsessions i have a gargantuan lower body. I was genetically gifted a rather generous bottom and enormous thighs from my mum but hill cycling has made them grow if possible. I also use to get teased at school for my unusual shape but now im so proud of it as my hubby loves it and it helps me no end in BJJ and cycling and see the fun side when people always comment on it

Anyway my waist has stayed the same and so shopping has been a nightmare and cant find jeans that are fit. They either hand off my waist or i cant get them over my backside. anyone got advice on brands?

also women cyclists feel free to add me on facebook. my page is

    thanks peeps

hello and welcome! Northumberland is such a beautiful place to live, lucky you!

Jeans wise, I have read lots of recommendations elsewhere for the Gap curvy jeans (I think they're called that?) They might be worth a try if you haven't already.

My curvy daughter likes Old Navy Sweetheart jeans, or Gap curvy jeans. I've recently rediscovered Levi 501s (thanks, Knot!) which work well for large thighs and a tiny waist. Eddie Bauer has a curvy style trouser jean that is pretty comfy, too.

I like the Levi's 560 jeans. They're not that easy to find, though.

I recently went shopping for jeans and it turns out Levi's has re-designed their women's jeans yet again. They have this whole "Curve ID" concept meant to fit 3 different types of figures.

I liked the "Bold fit" best. Sounds like you and I may have different body types, but if they are selling these in your area they may be worth a try on.

I have the same problem as you. I have a tiny waist and disproportionally large hips and thighs. One thing I learned is to stick with low rise jeans, then I don't have to worry about the jeans bagging in the waist. My current favorite jean is Lucky's Sweet and Low bootcut.

I've never tried a pair of Lucky's that didn't gap at the waist for me. Maybe I should go back again.

However...my absolute favorite skinny jeans for people with round behinds (William Rast) are now at TARGET!!! Though, I don't know if the fit is the same. And they're a whopping $50, but it's way cheaper than the ones not designed for Target.

I can't do skinny jeans because my calves are the size of most people's thighs...

hopefully they will look as cute on me....
I find that "boyfriend" jeans are the exact opposite of what fits me. There is no narrowing of the waist on that sort of style. They might fit through the butt and thighs, but definitely not the waist.
