    Sugoi zap tights...on the bike?

According to Sugoi's website, they're running tights. But it looks like you can use them for both, with shorts underneath? DBF says the seam placement in running tights is different from cycling tights. Is this true and is it simply solved by wearing shorts?

Anyone have these and want to comment? I'd like a pair of multi-use tights and that 20% off coupon makes these just about affordable...

Hmmm. I have some Sugoi tights that I love on my bike (their no longer in production Helix tight), and another pair that has a seam in the crotch that makes them rather uncomfortable on the bike, even with shorts underneath (their Mid-zero tight). I think both, however, are billed as "multi-use." The reviewer on TE appears to use them successfully on the bike.

My advice is to call TE and ask for their advice. From the picture, the seam looks similar to pair I have that don't work for me on the bike. I generally love Sugoi bottoms though if that helps. Their RS short is the only one I wear, and my tights have held up very well.

I've worn mine over shorts...they work really well. They are my favorite cold weather running tight for running and biking.

This is good to know. I had tried on a pair of Mid-Zero tights the other day and hadn't noticed the seam...that doesn't sound like a good thing for the bike

I've never noticed the seams in running tights when I wore them over cycling shorts, whether or not the crotch of the tights is gusseted.

My favorite tights right now for cycling are PI running tights. I wear them over shorts.

Go figure, in the time I spent waffling, TE ran out. At least I know they're popular!
Ah well. I'll save up a bit for when they come back in stock, or I can use that Amazon gift certificate.

Oh, great. I ordered the mid zero tights just before the sale, and I expect them to arrive today. I hope I don't feel the seam...
My beloved Hind tights are going to have to be retired. There is a hole in the knee that is not worth fixing. Last year DH installed a new ankle zip because I couldn't give them up when the zipper broke. I also ordered a pair of Cannondale tights from some discount site, but they came with a small tear, so I had to send them back for another pair.
I have always worn regular, unpadded tights for winter riding and never had any seam issues. In fact I bought a pair of padded tights from someone here on TE and they sucked. The chamois is huge and hurts me. Of course, my fault. They are Gore tights and I never stopped to think they wouldn't be right.

    Crankin,

My guess is that it's just me. I bet you like the tights just fine.

The tights came and fit me perfectly. I didn't notice the seam, although it might change when I ride.
I got the regular mid zeros, not the zap ones. From what I saw, you were paying $20.00 extra for the designs/reflective stuff.

The Zaps also have ankle zips. If that wasn't a major factor, I'd buy the regular Midzeros and some reflective tape stuff and go to town.

Yup. My Subzeros are Zaps...because I have a hard enough time getting tights on and off even with zippers. The reflective stuff was just bonus.

Wow, I didn't even notice the lack of zips in the picture or the description. I didn't have any trouble putting the tights on, though. It just means I won't be putting them on over my shoes (which would not probably happen).
They fit me much better than the Cannondale tights I had to exchange because of damage. I had to get a small in those instead of an x small. They were longer in the leg length and were a little snug in the hips, but they do have a cool wide waist band. The sizing just didn't seem to be in proportion to other brands I have. But, they were 15.00 and I like having more than one pair, as I wear them for stuff other than cycling.
