    windproof jacket for ~35-50 degrees?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I'm hoping that someone can help me with a jacket recommendation. At 35-50 degrees Farenheit, I don't need an insulated jacket, just a windblocking one that breathes super-well. My current windbreaker doesn't actually block all that much wind, so I get cold. My water-resistant options block wind nicely, but don't breathe worth a hoot, and I get way too warm and sweaty.

Any suggestions? I'm ready to plunk down Gore-type money, but only if it's really going to work well. No thermal/winter recommendations please....I'm a furnace on the bike!

    Many thanks in advance!

I have a Sugoi one that I got on clearance here at TE several years ago. If they still had it, I'd probably get another one, because it has been perfect! When it goes to it's final resting place, I'll try another Sugoi.

I love this jacket...I got it when the yellow was super cheap. I want to say it was <$50. Seems like it randomly goes on sale in some colors.

Becky, I've got a spare medium cutter event bike jacket (with tags) if you're interested.

It's pretty slim fitting for a medium.

Event is more breathable than goretex - so noone puts pitzips in it.

I should add that I also have a Mizuno Rebel running jacket that I really like. I haven't worn it on the bike, but it would probably work well for that, too. It wasn't $$ (I got it as a previous years's closeout), it's cut long in the back, and it blocks wind and water, but still breathes well. I don't wear it on the bike because it is black and orange and not as visible. While running this isn't as great an issue, since I run facing traffic and don't generally run when lighting is poor.

Thanks to Malkin for the tip on Sugoi. I ended up grabbing a Sugoi Zap jacket on Ebay- crazy-bright yellow, reflective, and supposed to be windproof.
