    Talking Funny commuting story

    To disable ads, please log-in.

So I was 1/8 of a mile down the road this morning, and heard a funny sound. I turned around, and there was a yorkie chasing me, little teeth out, yapping, dragging a red leash, complete with white bow in it's hair. The sight was so funny I almost fell over laughing! This week is going to be terrible (started with an overflowing toilet this morning), so it was great to get a laugh before work!

I take it you out sprinted the yorkie?

What's the saying "you don't have to outsprint the yorkie, just your slowest friend" oh, that's supposed to be outsprint the bear? oh, never mind.

There was a frantic sounding female owner, but I didn't see her-imagining curlers makes it funnier!

In curlers, and in her pink bathrobe and pink fuzzy slippers and knee highs..... gave me a laugh, now I can't get this visual out of my mind.

On a women's ride Wed. night, a teeny-tiny chihuahua ran right in front of me across the road, and I didn't see him til after he'd already crossed my path since I was chatting with the other two gals (who were riding a bit behind me). It scared me after the fact since I realized I came pretty close to plowing right into him. He was totally oblivious to me riding along at a pretty fast clip; he just wanted to cross the road right then, and there he went!

Fortunately, this encounter was a LOT less traumatic than my last dog encounter on the road; I wasn't scared of this dog at all, but he still made my heart race. I would have felt absolutely horrible if I'd hit him.

Just another case pointing out why dogs should be restrained. Not only can they hurt you, as a cyclist - you can hurt them!
