    Yoga............sooooo good!

    OK, I'll be serious now.

Now six months and three days since my broken back and I am doing well, swimming, aqua gym, gym and easing into riding my bike again, I am taking everything quite gently but it is going well.

Back in July I booked up for Yoga, turned up this morning for the first time feeling it all a bit daunting. However, when we finished I was extremely pleased, OK, have to confess it's Yoga for 50+ but it's perfect for me and what's more I even enjoyed it and nothing hurt.

That's all, just wanted to share.

Good for you! Whatever your skill level (I'm a rank beginner too), yoga has something to offer. I'm not taking a class at the moment, but I do some of the poses and stretches at the end of every gym workout. I am so much more flexible now, and I find it very peaceful and grounding.

I'm glad you had such a postive experience. I started practicing about 4 1/2 years ago, and it's been a life saver. No matter what else I have going on, I try to make it to my mat. Especially if you can find a good teacher, it's just a very positive thing to do for yourself.

I would love to find a class like that. i've taken regular yoga classes at the gym but it takes me too long to get into the poses.

How did they get that cat to do that?

I can't even get an animated GIF to go into full lotus.

Never mind my own legs and hips.

Yoga IS wonderful with the right teacher, isn't it?

Congrats on your health. Yoga and swimming are my magic bullets,in fact yoga is so good its like dessert. I always feel calmer and taller after I practice. I hope you continue to progress in your recovery.

yoga is awesome-- with the right teacher, at least! It's what I credit for being able to stay injury-free while increasing my running mileage so much...

My youngest cat likes to join me while I'm doing yoga at home. He's especially fond of trying to knock me over whenever I'm in any balance pose!
