    5 O'clock shadow..

    Ok, girls, ... fess up...

Scheduled a ride today with a friend but forgot to shave ...

"Oh crap....<pause.. .> Oh who the hell cares. I'm going cycling.. whatever."

Beautiful day... good ride... except for the extra resistance caused by the 5 O'clock shadow. I'm sure that impacted my performance.

I shave my moustache every morning.

Definitely gives me the aerodynamic advantage.

Ha! I did this Tuesday night, I wanted to mountain bike but wasn't planning on it so I was definitely not clean shaven. The trail was packed with the normal Tuesday night crowd but I was riding alone. Heck even if I had been meeting someone I would have gone.

I always figure my legs are moving so fast that nobody will notice, and am not always so conscientious about the current state of my flora and fauna. Sometimes however, my DH will call attention to the fact that I need to defoliate by stroking my pelt in an irritating way...

Who has time to shave??? I usually realize I didn't take time to do the landscaping when the sun hits my leg at a certain angle on a ride or right after I climb on the massage table I always feel bad about that and apologize.

I have no flora on my legs - haven't had to shave them since I was a teenager and thought that I had to even if there wasn't anything TO shave.

Not that I am bragging or anything

If it makes you feel better, roguedog, it took 5 weeks after my back surgery before I decided to figure out how to shave my calves...I haven't shaved above my knees YET. It's blond, I'm not out clubbing in miniskirts, who cares?

Then again, I've been known to use leg hair as blackmail. As in, "I'll shave my legs when you shave your face." Usually pretty effective.

I get something ...after 6 months or longer. (I'm sorry I don't pay attention to weed maintenance. because the weeds are so occasional.) And only below knee area. Not even a shadow.

Genetic courtesy of my mother who never seemed to grow any leg hair from what I can remember.

My husband shaves his legs more often than I do. But I don't have much hair - just a little strip on the front/inside of my lower leg, so I will give that bit an occasional swipe with the razor. With DH, it's spa time once a week and we practically run out of hot water.

During race season DH will shave at least once a week, it is an obnoxiously long amount of time. Then again if I was 6'2" and hadn't been doing this since I was 13 it would probably take me longer.

I haven't shaved anything for 11 years, ever since my DH told me all my 'fur' was much lovelier than icky stubble. What a wonderful man! Now that I'm 56 there's less everywhere anyway.

when i was in high school one day i noticed that this older girl that i had a bit of a crush on did not shave her legs or pits or anything. and i thought to myself if a women can be so attractive so smart so great with hairy legs then why should i shave mine? or anything else for that matter. so i stopped. my husband has always said he doesn't understand why women shave he makes a big deal out of shaving his face though. i think he looks better with some facial hair but whatever makes him happy is fine with me.
