Changes to Specialized saddles for 2011

I was just at a nearby bike shop looking at Specialized saddles. Most of the ones they had in stock were from this year, but they had a few that looked different. I asked and was told the different ones were for 2011. They are more wedge shaped, less t-shaped than the current models.

The ones I saw were Jetts and Rubies.

    - Gray 2010 carbon WSD road bike, Rivet Independence saddle
    - Red hardtail 26" aluminum mountain bike, Bontrager Evoke WSD saddle
    - Royal blue 2018 aluminum gravel bike, Rivet Pearl saddle

    Gone but not forgotten:
    - Silver 2003 aluminum road bike
    - Two awesome worn out Juliana saddles

    Thanks for the heads up.

Just when I find a saddle that fits really well they have to go and change it. Looks like I'm going to be stocking up on Rubies.

I think it's a good thing! I would have never looked at an avatar before, but the new model is super different and so far, nice. It's a lot flatter and more t-shaped, actually reminds me of a SSM aspide glamour with a little more padding. The price was great too. My guys let me take it as a test saddle, so if I hate it, they will take it back. The new ruby also has a little more gel in the seat.
This is the 2011 Avatar comp gel, $80.

Gotta say from the looks of last years model, the avatar is definitely flatter and more t-shaped. I wish the cutout was a little more substantial but overall not bad. I am interested to see the others!

    Wow

Just came from my LBS and the new saddles look nice. They have added a new "expert" series for the ruby, jett, toupe. The ruby expert has lost those plastic tabs on the nose and rear and a little more gel padding. It looks nice and they are cheaper than the original. I have a ruby expert on the way. I loved my original ruby...here we go again!
