I've found that Terry's Pro-Deal Monday offers are pretty lame. Either the item itself is ugly, or the sizes are extremely limited. But I guess that's how they get rid of stuff that's not selling. I figure the items are not selling for a reason.

OK, I've been wearing the regular, 7 inch Terry Bellas for a few years. I love the compressive aspect of these shorts and they are long enough so I can wear knee warmers and not get the sausage look. However, during my tour in Spain, I found out they were just too heavy of a material for very hot weather, and ended up wearing and washing out my 2 pairs of Shebeest S-Pros during the trip. S-Pros are shorter and I guess I am used to the length now. Anyway, when I saw the new, short length Bellas on sale on the 50% off pro Monday deal, I bought a pair. I really dislike them! First, they are about an inch shorter than the S-Pros, so they hit me in a slightly unflattering place. But the worst aspect is the seam placement. I can constantly feel the seams/stitching around the chamois and it is very uncomfortable. I've worn them 3 times, washed in hot water, and no softening of the fabric. It just feels like everything is rubbing.
I am glad I only paid half price.

Well, I've actually bought a few sleeveless jerseys from the Monday deals that were fine. Maybe because I wear an x small and they needed to get rid of these left overs? Frankly, I am just happy one company has my size in almost everything.
I will give them one or two more chances to "settle in" and then I will put them up for sale.

Yes, if you are an XS or an XL, the Pro Deal Monday sales could be good. But most folks aren't, which is why they have extras in those sizes to get rid of. It would be more honest, however, if Terry simply had an XS/XL sale all the time, and saved their Pro Deal Mondays for a wider variety of sizes and items. Or just call it what it is--Things We Have Too Many Of Sale.
I am disappointed in their strategy, but I have enough to keep me clothed already, so it really doesn't affect me anymore. I've come to ignore their sale emails.
I agree with you Tulip! I also have a story to share..
Two years ago, I had a trainer class of all women. I decided to offer a Terry promo and introduce these people to Terry product. I offered a substanial discount ( a one time deal) on anything that they might want, jerseys, shorts, etc... The order came fairly quick, and the shipment was completely received. The Bella shorts that were ordered, everyone hated! It didn't matter what size, or what shape these women were... so they were disappointed. I sent one jersey back for a larger size, and although I called each week and they told me that it had been shipped... it took 5 weeks!
Now I realize that the company has changed owners, but as a dealer myself... I would NOT carry Terry product simply because of their "Prodeal Mondays". Not only does it affect the bottomline of shops, it also doesn't give me any incentive to buy their product when they offer the programs that they do. It's far easier and more beneficial to order my womens product from another company that it concentrating more on their IBD's(independent bike dealers) as opposed to trying to compete with them.
Do I think that their quality is good? Absolutely! I appreciate the fact that a company dares to concentrate soley on womens product. Terry is a great company and I wish them good luck. I would however wish that they would concentrate on cycling products and not try to compete with Title 9... but that is only my personal opinion.![]()
Well, I respectfully, disagree on the whole. I have never had bad customer service from them, although I don't think I've made any returns since they changed hands. Once, they shipped me half of another woman's order with mine and it got cleared up pronto.
I like their gear because 1) it fits 2) they have 98% of their stuff in x-small 3)no elastic in 95% of the jerseys 4) I can get a really nice jersey for under $100.00. It seems like all the other ones I like are $120.00.
I like the regular Bellas and have been wearing them since they came out. Plus, I *like* the cute "apres sport" clothes and regular clothes they carry. I haven't bought a lot of them, but they have clothes that fit me. When I wrote Title 9 a letter asking them why they didn't carry petite sized pants and x-small tops, they responded with a form letter. Thus, I buy from Athleta, because they continually respond to the needs of people who fall outside the bell curve in terms of size, at all ends of the size spectrum.
I have tried to like Shebeest (jerseys are huge on me. didn't used to be), LG (the x-smalls came ah, down to my knees), and PI (they don't even make things in my size). I like Sugoi products and a couple of other brands that make more generic athletic stuff, like Mountain Hardware.
I do buy stuff from TE on occasion, but it tends to be from the sales, or for hiking/running.

Most of the Terry stuff is too short for me, but I have ordered from them once, recently. And it might be only once. They swapped my billing and shipping addresses, and though I emailed to let them know, they still sent the clothes to the wrong address (despite the fact that the billing address they used doesn't correspond to a single form of payment I use, and thus shouldn't have worked at all).
They still haven't responded to me. Not sure where the package is, but I hope I can recover it!
