    Livestrong Challenge Philly 2010

Is anyone getting there on that Friday and can pick up two ride packets? My friend and are riding, and both of us are coming in from out of state on Saturday. I'm sure we can make it to the Livestrong Village to pick up the packets, but since I'm coming by plane, I don't want to risk it in the event my flight gets delayed from Chicago (which seems to always happen at O'Hare).

We're part of Team Fatty and staying at the Hyatt Summerfield Suites (Plymouth Meeting). My posse and I will have a car and can drive to meet you to get the packets.

Just PM me if anyone is available.

    MANY THANKS!

I'm planning to pick up my packet on Sunday morning.

I'm about to email the Philadelphia ride coordinator to tell him that I won't see any of their sponsors due to the new packet pickup hours this year. It really annoys me -- so many people come from out of town for this event which is hard enough logistically, and this just makes it harder.

Packet pick-up runs until 2PM on Saturday, for the record. Since my team has a walking group as well, we are there on Friday to pick things up. Shoot me a PM if anyone would like me to help out. You'd just have to find me at my hotel Saturday evening - which wouldn't be much trouble.

Okay, I am still drying out. It's been a while since I got that rained on during a ride.

    It was still fun though.

I have never ridden in rain like that. I'm still cold and need to warm up!

And got to meet tongue_tied and her friend when they came to my hotel to pick up their packets. Hope they had a good ride too!

I once did the Seagull century in a nor'easter. That was my worst weather ride. Today was not as bad since the rain was not too heavy except for one spell where I had to pull over because I couldn't see. Also I lucked out because I was finished and protected by the food tent during that last huge downpour. My bike was out in that rain, however, and my bento box had at least a half inch of water in it from that storm.

Thanks to the miracle of ziploc bags, my phone and car smart key remained dry throughout.

I had lots of nice conversations with strangers today.
