I did that one time to a runner. It was dark and he didn't have reflective anything except his shoes. I admit I was glancing over at the house that was being built 4 doors down from me (for 2 seconds maybe), and when I looked back- I saw the runner in the car's path. He jumped on the grass and yelled at me. I turned around and apologized for almost hitting him, but told him I couldn't see him. He said he'd wear more reflective stuff next time.
