I'm running that half this year--already registered and have my room booked. I'm meeting ~30 friends there from a running message board. Look for the gaggle of girls in plaid running skirts.
Yeah, that registration fee is insane. It's more than I ever spent for a full marathon, much less a half. But I'm not going so much for the race as I am for the fun surrounding it.
He could totally do the half. I haven't run for almost a month due to my sprained left ankle (I'm thinking I have another 10-14 days before it will be runnable), but I'm still looking forward to the half. It will definitely not be a PR performance, under the circumstances (even without the ankle issue it wouldn't be, not with that crowd).

), but this would be an awesome way to do it again. What's with the entry fees being the same for the half as the full? I know things are expensive in Vegas, but sheesh!!
I usually run the Seattle Marathon the week before anyway, so if we did this together he'd have to take it easy on me. He does enjoy a good post-race handicap - commuting on the bikes this week was entertaining, though I was towing a 70 lb dog.
