Non-commuter seeks tail light

I'm looking for a cheapish tail light to add a little extra visibility. I'm riding during the day, primarily morning and evening--I'm home well before dark. I had a Nite Rider TL 5.0 until yesterday . My criteria are: must be less than $30, ideally less than $25, and it must have a clip mount, as there's not a lot of my seat post visible with my giant bag there.

I don't like tail lights that clip onto the seatpost, so I have a couple of these attached to my saddlebag (I secure them with gumbands so they don't fall off). More than sufficient --- using more than one also gives you some visibility from the side.

You can't go wrong with the PlanetBike Super Flash. That thing is CRAZY bright, but it also has a "regular" setting for if you're in a paceline or whatever and don't want to blind the rider behind you. Most LBS have them.

How about a seat stay mounted light? I have a really bright one, it has different modes of course, on my LHT. It cost $19 and am happy with it. Sadly though it is at home and I can't remember what it is...will try and remember to post the name tonight when I finally get home.

I second the Planetbike Superflash. Really bright, relatively cheap, pretty sturdy.

Another vote for the PB Superflash...I've had one clipped onto my seatbag for 2 years and it's still going strong...and I've ridden in some torrential downpours.

yeah - I don't ride in the rain on purpose if I can help it, but I did a couple of organized rides last year when it rained pretty much all day - drowned my cadence sensor the first time, took the sensor off pre-emptively the second time - and no water got into my blinky. Water leakage is probably related to the lens's proneness to popping off, and I expect the zip tie helps with that, too.

In the ~$20 category there is nothing even close to as bright as the Superflash.
