Has anyone registered for the Seagull Century yet? I'm thinking of riding it this year for the first time.

It's totally flat. Completely. Do you like flat?

Also, DO NOT do this ride if there's a nor'easter that weekend. Trust me, I've been there. Just say no.

Also, make your hotel plans now. You can always cancel them if you decide not to do the ride. But the hotels fill up fast.

I've done 'flat' in Florida and enjoyed the contrast from Virginia.

Last Sept. I rode with several members of the PPTC along the Coastal Hwy. from Rehoboth Beach into 20+ mph headwinds. I knew once we turned around and had the wind at our backs though, it'd be worth the effort.

haha, the nor'easter century ride sounds like it was a lot of fun ... Just say no, eh? Don't even take on the challenge?

I've got the opportunity to rent a reasonably priced condo in OC. Should be about 30-40 min. from Salisbury U.

Another option for that weekend is to ride the C&O canal in 3 days with me. Somehow get to Cumberland Saturday (probably rent a car one-way), ride to Hancock Sunday, to Harpers Ferry Monday, to DC Tuesday.

If I didn't already have a kayaking trip planned for this weekend...

Isn't the seagull century like a week or two after or before the wild goose chase? you could just do the century option at the wild goose chase.

It's too early for me to plan that far ahead, but I'm putting this ride on my calendar as a possibility for that weekend:

I've been wanting to check it out for a couple of years now but have not been able to do it.

Personally I prefer to ride in this part of Maryland, rather than the eastern shore.
