    Cool Review: SmartWool Channing jersey

When I came across this jersey, my initial thought was FINALLY! someone developed a high vis wool jersey. I ordered the jersey in limelight and waited for the expedient delivery from TE.

Upon arrival I promptly put it to the test. The jersey is more of a granny smith green rather than a high vis lime green. The stitching is finished and alot of thought has been put into the design in terms of the breathable panels on the side to help with ventilation. The fit is semi-fitted with no elastic in the sleeves and but there is elastic in the bottom hem with silicone grip tape over the hem. The wool weight is ideal for transitional seasons and warm temps as well. In 60 F weather I paired it with a SmartWool summer weight tank underneath and it was just enough to take the chill off. On a hot day with temps in the mid 80's and 67% humidity, I was still comfortable and the fabric breathed and kept me mostly dry.

The rear pockets are generous and angled and there's a little pocket on the front right that's ideal for carrying an iPod shuffle or a credit card for those long days in the saddle. A grommet is added for the chord. The jersey also has reflective piping along the bottom edge of the rear pockets and the logo is reflective as well.

The length of the jersey is good for someone who has a long torso and it's nice to have a full length front zip. This is a nice addition to the wardrobe and as with my other wool pieces it will get lots of use in the days to come.

Oh you evil, evil person, sundial

I did not need to know that that jersey was good in warm weather

I bought the long-sleeved SmartWool jersey last fall and took it on vacation. It was nice enough looking to wear as a "jacket" for dinner and served double duty as a jersey on the final cold day.

After that I lived in the jersey. It fits so nicely--long torso; long enough in the sleeves; and, most importantly, it didn't ride up and bunch around my waist. With the cool spring I wore it almost every weekend. It still looks new.

Now that it is warming up, I miss that comfortable jersey. I simply did *not* need to know that the summer jersey sound as lovely. Arggghhh....will I resist!?!?!?!!? Will the budget allow?!?!?!??

(Seriously, thanks for the review. I'll have to consider)
