Anyone riding in Little Red Riding Hood?

    Hi All,

I finally got a spot for Little Red Riding Hood on June 5th from someone who couldn't make it. I am hoping to do the full century but am looking for other women who are also doing it. I know its complicated to meet up with new riders, etc but I'm hoping I can find a group to maybe meet up with for a training ride before the event? I live in the Salt Lake city area (Bountiful specifically). Anyone else in the area? I would appreciate any responses. You can post here or PM me. Thanks so much and I look forward to an incredible ride!

I sold my registration because I am volunteering for the ride, but there are plenty of training rides you can do with the Bonneville Cycling Club to get ready. They have multiple rides, daily on their calendar right now. I ride with them a few times a week and they are a very fun and friendly bunch.

I bought mine from someone who couldn't make it. Right now I am signed up for the 57 miler, but the weather has not be very good for going out and logging the miles, so I may move down to the 32 miler. I am in Clearfield, so if you ever want to ride with a newbie, I would love to meet up.

Which rides have you done or do? I was actually looking at their calendar today. I was thinking about doing the Monday night one at REI even though its mostly for beginners but I thought it might be a good one to start with. Also, the Emigration Canyon one sounds good. Just curious to know what you have done. Thanks again for the response.

When do you ride? I have a 19 month old daughter so it makes training more complicated. I usually ride during the week with my husband after work. He pulls her in the trailer and we head out and do the hills around here. Then we do longer rides during the weekend. I could always meet up during the day and pull her myself.

JWO, I have young kids too, so I usually ride with my hubby too, but I would love to get out of the house for a ride, I can pull my 3yo in our trailer. I am slow since I am just starting out, so if you don't mind riding with a slow poke we could meet up any time and ride!

We should connect one of these days and meet on Legacy or somewhere in the middle between Bountiful and Clearfield. It would be fun to get some fresh air with the kids! And push yourself to do the 57 miler at LRRH. I'm sure you can do it. I did the Salt Lake City Century last weekend and ended up doing the metric century (which turned out to be 72 miles instead of 67). I didn't think I could do it but once I crossed the finish line, it felt great. You will too!!
