I meant to announce this last week but just didn't get around to it: 3 months to the day after major back surgery (that would have been last Thursday) I went for a ride outside. 11.2 whole miles, finished in the rain. It's been and will continue to be a slow road back to my normal activity level and I'm surprised that I've already received the thumbs up to ride AND today the surgeon told me to try to run/walk a little bit (HE brought it up, not me)! I'm a little chicken on that one...maybe this coming weekend. Riding does hurt but I am going to have my bike re-fit (since I'm actually a fraction of an inch taller now) so hopefully the painful readjustment period will be short. But, I can ride. Yippee, something other than walking and walking and walking and walking some more!
