It happens to all of us, at some point or another.Last year, I was riding with my husband...going up a steep hill in my lowest gear possible. I had ridden this hill at least 4 times before, so I certainly was not expecting any problems getting up it on this ride. About midway through the steepest section, I just toppled over...I have no idea what happened, but I just couldn't turn the pedals anymore...my legs were fried. Then it dawned on me, that the day before I had run a 5k race...so I'm betting that is why my legs were toast the next day.

Thursday I did a spinning class and we did an intense 30 min climb. My legs felt every min. Saturday the family and I did Memory Grove and City Creek Canyon in Salt Lake City. It is a good steady climb. I made it all the way up Memory Grove and my legs were soooo mad at me. lol. I told hubby that I wanted to keep going, so about half way up City Creek I could not go any farther. I needed to rest, so I yelled up to hubby to stop. I was coming to a stop and had no juice left in my legs to unclip. I have my clips on the lightest setting, so they are really easy to unclip. I couldn't do it. I just toppled right over. I have a huge black bruise on my right calf and left knee, and my left knee is all scraped up. Hubby just laughed and told me that at least I took my dive when no one was around and not at a stop light like he did. After the fall I couldn't go to much further, so we turned around and came home. I can finally walk normal but my bruises still are tender to the touch. But I am so glad that is out of the way, now I don't have to fret about it anymore. lol

I fell over the very first day I had my bike and still have the scars to prove it (that was august 2009.)
